The City of Centralia lifted the burn ban for residential and recreational burning effective 12:01 a.m. on September 3, 2026.
The burn ban was initially put in place on August 26, 2026, due to dry conditions and high fire danger. The city's Public Works Department issued the ban to help prevent wildfires during the dry season.
Residents are now permitted to burn yard waste and other approved materials, but the city reminds them to follow all fire safety guidelines and to check with the Centralia Fire Department before starting any fires.
