WSDOT announced several road construction and maintenance projects affecting Centralia–Chehalis area highways starting this week. Overnight double-lane closures on I-5 near Grand Mound begin Monday, Sept. 13, and continue through Sept. 25. The project includes pavement work between Maytown Road and Old Highway 99.
Additional closures include a southbound I-5 exit closure in Olympia from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 13, a ramp closure on US 101 to I-5 in Olympia during the same hours, and a one-way alternating traffic schedule on SR 507 near Spanaway through Sept. 14. The SR 302 safety enhancement project permanently closes the right lane on southbound SR 302 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 16-17.
All projects are scheduled to end by Sept. 26, with most ending this week. WSDOT advises drivers to expect delays and to follow all detour signs and flagger instructions during work hours.
