The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has announced several road closures and lane restrictions for construction and repairs on I-5 and SR 6 near Centralia–Chehalis, effective this week.
Nightly closures on southbound I-5 between milepost 83 and Mellen Street will run from 8 p.m. Sunday through 6 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, for guardrail repairs. The Harrison Avenue on-ramp to southbound I-5 will also close during these times. A separate project will close the right lane of southbound I-5 near milepost 88 on Sept. 21 for guardrail work. Meanwhile, a paving project near Grand Mound will cause overnight double-lane closures on I-5 between Maytown Road and Old Highway 99 through Sept. 25.
On SR 6, alternating traffic with flaggers will begin at 6:28 a.m. Sept. 15 at milepost 45.7 near Curtis Hill Road. A water main replacement project will cause single-lane traffic on SR 6 between Clinton Road and Twin Oaks Road weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through Oct. 12. Tree trimming work on westbound SR 6 between Rainbow Falls State Park and Hope Creek Road will also require single-lane traffic daily from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. through Sept. 30.
