Multiple Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) projects began or continue this week, impacting travel on major highways near Centralia–Chehalis. Overnight lane reductions on northbound I-5 near Lacey will start as early as 6 p.m. on September 10, 2026, through September 26, 2026. Crews also began alternating traffic on SR 508 from milepost 22 to 26 near Bear Canyon starting September 10, 2026, and on SR 507 at 208th Street South near Spanaway for a roundabout project, effective September 8, 2026.
WSDOT advises travelers to slow down, use caution, and expect delays during these projects. The I-5 work includes double-lane closures Tuesday through Saturday nights, reopening by 6 a.m. on weekdays and as late as 9:30 a.m. on weekends. The SR 507 project is scheduled to end September 14, 2026, while the SR 508 work continues until further notice. Other projects include lane closures on SR 4 and US 101, with specific start and end dates provided by WSDOT.
